Midwifery Care with Community Birth Twin Cities
Mission
We believe that birth is natural, normal, and one of the most important events of a person’s life. We are all unique individuals, and it’s important that you have the opportunity to navigate this journey on your own terms. We trust and believe in your wisdom and ability to birth your baby. As community midwives, our job is ensure that the process is safe, that you feel seen and heard, and feel fully comfortable and prepared for your birthing time. As your midwives, we are more than just your care provider. We believe in building strong, authentic relationships with our families, and are here to be your confidante, your right-hand, your person throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
Equal access and culturally safe care are centered in our mission. In fact, it’s exactly why we do what we do. Historically, not everyone has had access to the endless benefits of home birth and midwifery care. We are deeply committed to being part of the change for equal access and the end of racial health disparities.
Practice
Prenatal visits happen in the comfort of your own home. During visits, we focus on how you’re doing physically and emotionally, any questions you have, holistic remedies and preventative care, community referrals, and simply spending time getting to know each other.
Each birth is also attended by a midwife, assistant midwife or advanced student, and a new student. All midwives and advanced students are certified in neonatal resuscitation and BLS for healthcare providers. Our approach to birth is hands-off, peaceful, and non-interventive. In the rare case of a complication, we come equipped with medical equipment and medications, and are able to do IVs and suturing in-home.
We provide plenty of postpartum care to ensure you feel confident and cared as you adjust or readjust to parenthood. By your final visit, we’ll have seen you at least five times in the postpartum alone, with extra visits for concerns, lactation issues, weight checks and more available as needed.

Safe Space
